The cooks at food52 never cease to amaze us: you all helped build the first food52 cookbook (and you're ramping up for the second!). Now some of our illustrious members have published works of their own, coming to a bookstore near you. If we've missed anyone, we'd love to hear about your book project in the comments section!

The Naptime Chef: Fitting Great Food Into Family Life (Running Press, 2012)

KelseyTheNaptimeChef discovered that she could still cook and eat great food -- like her prize-winning Chocolate Bundt Cake -- after becoming a mother, she just had to take advantage of her daughter's afternoon nap. Her first book focuses on how to prepare your favorite meals in the brief downtime you find: freezer, pantry, batch cooking and prep-ahead tips accompany most recipes. As Kelsey says, cooking like this has "been a wonderful way for me to fit great food into my daily routine and marry my lives as a foodie and a parent."

Quarter-Life Kitchen (William Morrow, 2011)

Big Girls Small Kitchen

The popular blog was founded by food52 members SmallKitchCara (known for her Secret Ingredient Beef Stew) and BigGirlPhoebz (she of Prosciutto and Fontina Panini fame)"100 perfectly tested recipes, half of which have never been featured online," will accompany stories about the challenges (small kitchens, smaller budgets) and victories (cocktail parties and dinner dates) the girls face as they navigate life in their twenties in New York City.

Four Kitchens (Grand Central Publishing, July 2011)

Lauren Shockey

After graduating from the French Culinary Institute, Lauren Shockey worked in four very different kitchens across the globe -- New York, Hanoi, Tel Aviv and Paris -- and gained not only a vast culinary education (from molecular gastronomy to classic French cuisine), but also an understanding of what it's like to be a woman working in professional kitchens. Her sweet potato contest finalist recipe Sweet Potato Soup with Feta and Zaatar Oil is one of 50+ that will be appearing in the book!

Storied Dishes (Praeger, November 2010)

In this collection of 50 food essays, five of the contributors come from food52: Ammini, ayankeeinasouthernkitchen, JanieG, tracink and food52 Editor kristen miglore share recipes passed down from woman to woman and the stories behind them.

Just found this page now--congrats to all the other authors! My book is called Sweet Freedom: Desserts You'll Love without Wheat, Eggs, Dairy or Refined Sugar--full of all the classics plus some offbeat recipes made only with whole food, real ingredients and no lactose, casein or eggs (about 1/3 of the recipes are gluten free; the rest contain spelt or barley flour). I was bowled over when Ellen DeGeneres recommended it on her website--one of only 3 cookbooks there! (wheee!). :D

Sorry for the duplicate--didn't see the first comment show up (she can bake, but she can't read. . . ) ;)

I'm a little late to the party but just found this post! My cookbook, Sweet Freedom: Desserts You'll Love without Wheat, Eggs, Dairy or Refined Sugar, is filled with whole-foods, lactose and casein-free recipes. About 1/3 of the recipes are gluten free (the rest use spelt and/or barley). I was bowled over when Ellen DeGeneres included it as one of only three cookbooks recommended on her website-whoo hoo! Anyone looking for healthier, real-food ingredients in all your favorite desserts will enjoy the book. :)

Congratulations to everyone on their forthcoming books. Indeed, we'll be able to say "we knew you when" as Oui Chef points out. Of course I'm also looking forward to getting my hands on Amanda Hesser's NY Times Cookbook opus toward the end of October. And... can't wait to see the first Food 52 book and also start contributing ideas again for the second (congrats to Amanda and Merrill for securing a second book). All so fabulous!

Me! Me! I'm a quiet member of Food52, that's for sure, but I've been reading along from the very beginning. My book, Parents Need to Eat Too: 150+ Simple, Healthy Recipes for Sleep-Deprived, Frazzled New Moms & Dads will be out in 2011, published by HarperCollins.
