The cooks at food52 never cease to amaze us: you all helped build the first food52 cookbook (and you're ramping up for the second!). KelseyTheNaptimeChef discovered that she could still cook and eat great food -- like her prize-winning Chocolate Bundt Cake -- after becoming a mother, she just had to take advantage of her daughter's afternoon nap. Her first book focuses on how to prepare your favorite meals in the brief downtime you find: freezer, pantry, batch cooking and prep-ahead tips accompany most recipes. As Kelsey says, cooking like this has "been a wonderful way for me to fit great food into my daily routine and marry my lives as a foodie and a parent."

Big Girls Small Kitchen

The popular blog was founded by food52 members SmallKitchCara (known for her Secret Ingredient Beef Stew) and BigGirlPhoebz (she of Prosciutto and Fontina Panini fame)"100 perfectly tested recipes, half of which have never been featured online," will accompany stories about the challenges (small kitchens, smaller budgets) and victories (cocktail parties and dinner dates) the girls face as they navigate life in their twenties in New York City.

Lauren Shockey

After graduating from the French Culinary Institute, Lauren Shockey worked in four very different kitchens across the globe -- New York, Hanoi, Tel Aviv and Paris -- and gained not only a vast culinary education (from molecular gastronomy to classic French cuisine), but also an understanding of what it's like to be a woman working in professional kitchens. Her sweet potato contest finalist recipe Sweet Potato Soup with Feta and Zaatar Oil is one of 50+ that will be appearing in the book!
