We’re excited to announce that August’s Hotline MVP is Sam1148! Take a moment to congratulate him, and then go make his Cherry Tomato Tequila Butter Salsa -- it's perfect on fish, chicken, your spoon...

Sam1148 not only has the perfect use for all of your late-summer cherry tomatoes, he's also a serious problem solver on the Hotline. Should you find yourself in a cabin with no running water, no electricity, and a sink that pumps in rainwater from the roof: Sam1148 has you covered with meal ideas for an entire week. If you're taking it easy in a regular vacation home with luxury amenities (like a stove), but just don't want to spend the week slaving away in the kitchen: He's got ideas for that too. Staring at ten pounds of parsley? Sam1148 has suggestions. Out of powdered sugar? He'll walk you through how to make it from regular sugar in a mini food processor.

Sam1148's not just the MacGyver of the Hotline, he's full of fun facts, like the best way to properly start a batch of sauerkraut -- according to legend, it's under an oak tree during a full moon. You know how we love food trivia.

Do it in late September when the winds and the weather changes. Dancing naked around the oak tree is either optional or scary.
