Editors' Picks — Autumn Pie
Any food52 member is welcome to help us test our Editors' Pick candidates, so go call dibs on the recipe you'd like to test in the comments section below! We'd love to see some new testers in the mix. Don't forget to email us your notes (about 100 words) to editors@food52.com by next Tuesday at 5pm.
We'll collect your comments, decide the official list of Editors' Picks and publish your evaluation in the headnote if the recipe is selected as an Editors' Pick (with credit, of course!). And even if the recipe you test isn't chosen as an Editors' Pick, please feel free to leave your testing notes in the recipe's comments section. Constructive criticism is always encouraged!

Thanks so much for the editor's pick, A & M and Merrill, thank you for making my pie and for thinking the crust smelled like the best cheese straw ever, it means a lot! : )

All of these pies look so fabulous, and it's great to see all of the different recipes for pie crusts. With all of these entries, I feel honored for the EP, thank you.

Thank you for the Editor's Pick! I ate that entire pie myself as my husband is "studying" for his annual physical exam and won't eat any desserts.

it's hard for me to understand why a recipe that has you make your own pork stock, track down a source for fresh leaf lard, grind your own pork, and build a hot water lard crust, would go begging. However, I am scheduled to make my own recipe the weekend of Oct. 2 in response to a comment/question from SallyCan, and I will take detailed notes about process and time requirements (I did say it required a whole weekend) and put them into comments. I am developing a list of non kosher carnivores to invite and want, for the first time in my life, to make a savory ice cream or ice as an accompaniment. Please send your ideas. I can make this into a pickle if you want.
