by:
November  4, 2010

Quinoa with Butternut Squash Butternut Squash and Pancetta Arancini Riso

Any food52 member is welcome to help us test our Editors' Pick candidates, so go call dibs on the recipe you'd like to test in the comments section below! We'd love to see some new testers in the mix. Don't forget to email us your notes (about 100 words) to [email protected] by next Tuesday at 5pm.

We'll collect your comments, decide the official list of Editors' Picks and publish your evaluation in the headnote if the recipe is selected as an Editors' Pick (with credit, of course!). And even if the recipe you test isn't chosen as an Editors' Pick, please feel free to leave your testing notes in the recipe's comments section. Constructive criticism is always encouraged!

Anybody able to take the butternut squash pasta? I have the flu and still haven't tested it yet. Sorry to hand if off at the last moment, but I'd like to sleep for the next 2-3 days.

I'm clearly a bit late on the uptake here (this was my first food52 entry and I'm still figuring out the protocol!). Are all of the candidate recipes taken? I would love to test one if I still can. Sorry for being so slow...

Food52 November 5, 2010
Welcome! Yes, unfortunately they've all been claimed but if you do try any of them, please feel free to leave your notes in the recipes' comments sections. Next week's EPs will go up Thursday afternoon.

i'm all over those arancini. i miss rome.

though it's not on your list of your choices, i'm also making the butternut & celeriac gratin, though i think i'm going to add some cantuccini or almond biscotti to the breadcrumbs (a giada trick that is amazing with the squash). will let you know how it works.

Hi VanessaS. You can test the butternut squash and potato mash instead, if you'd like to, since you didn't get to call anything else. Just let me know if you want it. Otherwise I'll go ahead and test it.

TheWimpyVegetarian November 4, 2010
I would love to try the Harvest Squash Chocolate Chip Cakey Cookies. I can make some with nuts for friends/neighbors, but would have to make this without nuts for me to taste-test. If that's ok, I'd love to make them. If you want to wait for someone who can taste-test them with the nuts, I totally understand.

Food52 November 4, 2010
So you'll make some with and some without, that's fine. Thanks
