14 Care Package-Worthy Treats for Loved Ones Near and Far

February  4, 2016

When you are in college, a care package is the purest demonstration of love you can experience. It doesn't matter what's inside: homemade cookies, packages of Oreos, a rainbow of drugstore underwear, two pounds of confetti, mini bottles of booze, the things you forgot the last time you visited home. You'd rip it open in the middle of the mailroom. It doesn't matter. It came in the mail for you.

But you don't need to be in college to enjoy a care package, and the same principle applies: It doesn't matter what's in there. If you make something and put it in a box and take it to the post office and send it to someone you love, their whole day/week/month will be made. And if you make one of these recipes and include it in the package—well. Expect a care package in return.

What's the best thing you ever got in a care package? Tell us in the comments.

To be honest, the best care package I ever received had anchovies, funnel cake batter, and hookah tobacco. The ideas in this article, though, also sound stellar.
