Ginger's Kitchen is the brainchild of food52 superstars (clockwise from the top) arielleclementine, Helenthenanny, aargersi and Sagegreen, the first three of whom live in Austin, Texas (and have been known to meet up for potlucks and epic cannonball competitions). Last weekend, Sagegreen flew down from Amherst, Massachusetts for the group's first cooking collaboration, escaping snow fall for comparatively balmy weather in Austin.
The cold may have kept people up north locked indoors, but this inspired foursome was free to roam around Austin, sourcing local produce from the farmers markets and cheeses from the beloved Antonelli's Cheese Shop in Hyde Park. Check our their brilliant uses of Explorateur Triple Crème in their cheeky Don't Hate Me Because I'm Waldorf salad and Dante, an aged sheep's milk cheese, in their Apple Panzanella.
Ginger's Kitchen has only conspired for one contest so far, but if their Brown Butter Apple Pie Salad, their Warm Duck and Grilled Apple Salad, or their raita/tzatziki-dressed apple salad (Raitziki!) are any clues, this cunning foursome will continue to be an inspirational force on food52.
