Transform Your Morning Bowl of Yogurt Into a Breakfast Tart

July 21, 2016

Yogurt plus fruit plus granola—whether these ingredients are dumped into a bowl, or carefully layered parfait-style, they combine to make an entirely serviceable breakfast, albeit a slightly dull one if you're making it the same way every time.

But take the essential elements and combine them in a new way, and you've transformed your rote breakfast routine into something special. Fiveandspice's Yogurt and Berry Tart with a Pecan Crust looks like dessert, but it still fits solidly in the breakfast camp (in a wholesome way, not in a have-a-slice-of-pie for breakfast way—though we like that camp, too). The crunchy pecan crust stands in for granola, the filling is unadorned Greek yogurt, and it's all topped off with berries—or whatever fresh fruit happens to be in season. Best of all, the tart holds up for several days in the fridge, so there's no excuse not to treat yourself to a slice tomorrow, and the next day, and the next day...
