Cook Spotlight
eatboutique
Eatboutique and her Rhubarb Cordial in our favorite type of jar.
You read "boutique" and dream of tiny packages tied up with twine and potpourri in a drawstring sachets. Little jars. Pretty Paper. You know. Similarly quaint is eatboutique's approach to food -- this New Englander loves all things "hand-made, especially food" and prefers to eat small bites of things while home alone (no big bowl of cereal or a fried egg on pasta for this cook -- tidy tapas, nifty small plates, traditional charcuterie and hors d'oeuvres are on the menu.)
On an evening with guests, you might catch her tossing together a warm plate of Basil Broiled oysters (or a seasonal pizza for that matter), all washed down with house cocktails such as Cardinals, Pomegranate Packs-a-Punch or perhaps, Homemade Baileys, although she is the proud owner of 100 or so bottles of wine.
Like the shelves of a good old fashioned general store, we imagine eatboutique's larder to be lined with jars of Rhubarb Cordial, Goat Milk Bechamel and Pear Pineapple Ginger Jam. And, like any enviable shop proprietor, she has the impeccable style to go with it -- no wonder she's won our Thanksgiving Photo Challenge and weekly Feast Your Eyes contests. And, of course Jenny flocked to eatboutique's arsenal for an answer to what to do with the preserved figs she had just received (um hello, jealousy.)
Read the Q&A from eatboutique's profile and check out her extremely nifty website or follow her on twitter.

Congrats on being featured in the spotlight, eatboutique! Your website is beautiful. I loved seeing your fried dough recipe. That is a dish that I loved as a child, too. And I can't wait to try your chicken and fig recipe. I have a jar of preserved figs in my pantry now, calling out to me.
