12 Easy-Breezy Beach Foods That Come Together in the Time It’ll Take to Get Sand in Them

July  5, 2018

Popular opinion: I love going to the beach. I know, this doesn’t make me special and it’s probably boring to hear someone else talk about the benefits of going to the beach. Because, yes, sand feels good between your toes, and the soft lapping of waves against the shore is #3 in the list of amazing sounds.

So I’ll spare you. I won’t bore you with talk of my favorite things about the beach, because they’re probably just the same as yours.

I will, however, regale you with a list of all the best foods to eat on the beach. Because it’s July and some of you—hopefully all of you!—have a beach in your near future, and will be bringing a bag full of snacks. Because the only thing worse than a sunburn is being stuck in the sand with nothing to munch on.

roll tide

These summer nori rolls are everything beach eating is about: ease, simplicity, fresh and light ingredients. Plus, eating things with your hands is always a win. Also, there's seaweed, so this snack is very on-theme.

I've got that summertime salad

How does that Lana Del Rey song go? "I've got that summertime, summertime salad..." Yeah, something like that. Well, like Lana, you too can have yourself a summertime salad. Heck, have that summertime salad at the beach while you're at it. Hydrate!

Pass the pasta

So, here I'm going to tell you that it's actually an okay idea to bring a fork to the beach. "But what about eating with our hands?!" you may wonder with incredulity. To which I'll say: Use them to hold a fork and eat a delicious pasta salad. You won't regret it. Here are two options.

Toes in the Sand...wich

The name of the game here is: ease. Sandwiches get slapped together in the morning and then slapped into your mouth when that mid-afternoon hunger comes roaring by. I like mine loaded with crunchy veggies that wont wilt in the summer sun.

You're Doing amazing, sweetie

There's enough salt in the sea, so why not munch on something sweet the next time you're at the beach? Bring something sturdier that'll hold up on the journey, something easily shareable. Like a cookie or...a cookie!
