The Piglet Party!

February 10, 2012

If you were able to hop on the Piglet train and get yourself to the party, thank you for coming & we hope you had as much fun as we did! If not, we'd hate for you to miss out, so here's a wee taste of what you missed! We were too busy playing and trophy-ing to take many good pictures, so the wonderful and talented photographer Donny Tsang of Ultrateg.com kindly allowed us to use some of his images from the shindig. So without further ado, we give you Piglet Party 3.0!

As most of you know, it's not a party until you're munching on some of merrill's Party Popcorn, so we made sure to serve it up at the FOOD52 snacks table.

Shop the Story

And everyone knows you can't have Party Popcorn without drbabs' Cheese Crispettes! Our lovely head recipe tester Stephanie Bourgeois slaved over batch after batch of these cheesy darlings to ensure that party-goers were happy and well-fed!

But Cathy Erway (of Not Eating out in New York and the Heritage Radio Network) knows that cheesy crackers and popcorn can really make a person thirsty, so she teamed up with her friends at Brooklyn's own Sixpoint Brewery and made sure we'd have plenty to go around.

Righteous indeed. She even poured the beer herself! Mmmmm refreshing! Thanks Cathy! Check out those pouring skills -- no wonder this was a close contender for most popular table of the evening.

Beer and snacks are all well and good, but they can really wipe you out. Craft Coffee (Amanda's current food crush) swept in and saved the day with cup after perfect cup to keep us all at our Piglet partying best.

This is all getting very "If You Give a Mouse A Cookie", but what can we say? If you give us coffee, you're going to have to give us sweets and chocolates to nibble between sips. Both Liddabit and Lush Toffee were kind enough to oblige with amazing chocolates and toffees; SoCo Creamery ran the very popular ice cream bar; June Taylor brought the best candied citrus we've ever tasted.

Oh yeah! And there was a big shiny, pig-topped trophy to award! After a nice word from Amanda, and the awarding of the People's Choice -- congrats to Heidi Swanson's Super Natural Everyday --  the beautiful Carla Hall stepped in to announce the big winner of the night! Congratulations Joe Beef! See video of the big moment below.

As you can see, a good time was had by all! Hi Hunter Lewis! Hi back of Carla Hall's Head! Hi back of Canal House ladies' heads! (Check out their post-Piglet post here in the 4th post down as of now -- you can't miss the ham -- sounds like they really did it up right!) Hi everyone! Great party, huh?

A thousand thanks to everyone who came and participated, from our own fabulous Kristy Mucci who planned it all, to the vendors, authors, judges and partygoers who made the Piglet a big success! See you next year -- OINK!
