For those of you who don't know, FOOD52 is really lucky because it has not one but two homes. Some of the time, we live at Amanda's lovely Brooklyn apartment, where we have all our photo and video shoots, but most of the time, we're stationed at the fabulous General Assembly in Manhattan. Between the chalkboard walls and all of the smart and innovative people we get to share space with, we feel lucky to be part of the GA family.
It's a cozy little hive of creativity and laptop-ery during the day, but at night and on the weekends, GA holds all sorts of cool classes and workshops. Starting February 27th, GA will be hosting its first ever Artisan Week, during which they will feature a number of classes and events "celebrating the marriage of technology and craftsmanship in New York City."
There will be workshops in topics from "How to Design Your Artisanal Product's Brand" to "Maximizing Your Etsy Skills", as well as a panel discussion about using technology-based businesses to their fullest potential to sell physical, artisanal, and craft products. Last but not least, the fun part -- the exhibition! There will be tastes of Craft Coffee as well as lots of unique jewelry and home goods from a rainbow of Brooklyn designers. You can buy tickets here.
Long story short, if you're in or around New York City, Artisan Week at GA is definitely worth checking out. Hope to see you there!
