"The Best Banana Bread You'll Ever Have" is a bold claim to make given the many banana bread recipes that exist. But, this one comes from Joy the Baker's grandmother who has been perfecting it over the past sixty years. And, it includes bourbon and chocolate chunks. Enough said. Needless to say, this is most definitely on our recipes-to-make list!

My favourite banana bread recipe is one my friend taught me. Nothing special about it but it tastes awesome and smells wonderful when baking. I love some orange zest in the batter and these days I caramelize banana chunks and fold them into the batter (a tip i learnt from Jennifer Perillo'a banana bread, on food52)!
