Behind the Scenes
A Messy Day In the Test Kitchen
Tuesday was another day in the test kitchen, with all the snacks, mishaps, and tiny vegetables you would expect. Here are some snapshots from our day:
The day started with a trio of amazing sweet farro tarts brought by our developer Amanda Li. (For fun, there's Merrill checking her phone in the hall before getting to work.)

Our intern Dana, who's launching her very own macaron business Dana's Bakery was kind enough to show us her skills. The final macarons were gorgeous, with a strawberry-studded filling. (You'll be seeing much more of this batch soon!)

Later in the day Kristen and James made a bit of a mess while photographing some lentils for an upcoming article -- nothing a quick vacuum job couldn't fix, but oops!

Meanwhile, Jennifer and Amanda calmly filled dumplings and managed not to spill any of the filling. And aren't those chard leaves the cutest you've ever seen?

There's a sidewalk tree in my neighborhood in Brooklyn that someone has planted Swiss chard into -- I don't know if I would eat sidewalk chard, but it sure looks pretty!

Real food makes better messes! In Charleston, people plant rainbow chard in their window boxes. Gorgeous.
