Community Picks -- Spring Alliums
Any Food52 member is welcome to help us test our Community Pick candidates, so go call dibs on the recipe you'd like to test in the comments section below! We'd love to see some new testers in the mix. Don't forget to email us your notes (about 100 words) to editors@food52.com by next Tuesday at 5pm (EST).
We'll collect your comments, decide the official list of Community Picks and publish your evaluation in the headnote if the recipe is selected as a Community Pick (with credit, of course!). And even if the recipe you test isn't chosen as a Community Pick, please feel free to leave your testing notes in the recipe's comments section. Constructive criticism is always encouraged!

Ooh, I missed the paranthas... Made them last night. Can I still make comments?

You can always comment on the recipe page -- I look forward to seeing it!

Oh no. I feel like an idiot for not realizing this sooner, but I was just informed by my CA farmers market vendors that ramps and fiddleheads only grow East of the Mississippi. I got some gorgeous spring garlic and green onions, and will do my best to test this recipe with substitutions. BUT if anyone on the Eastern half of the country can do the ramp pesto with fiddleheads justice, please do!

Is the parantha still up for grabs? I'll take it if it is!

I just bought a bunch of spring onions with gorgeous round bulbs at my farmer's market that I think would be perfect grilled. So, if it's not taken yet, I would love to try The Evasive Calçot and the Promiscuous Romesco.

Thanks for volunteering to test this Fork & CHopsticks..If you can't find Ramps in Denmark, Just substitute 2 cloves of garlic & greens from 4-5 scallions... & add black crushed peppercorns in lieu of the pickled green ones..

about 1 year ago Vivian Henoch
Thanks for the nod, CC...the pesto would be my choice, but it was taken (by no surprise).
about 1 year ago Ms. T
Vivian- do you still have the time/desire to test the pesto? I can't find ramps or fiddleheads in CA :( I will do my best to still test the recipe with substitutions, but I'm afraid there are no substitutions for fiddleheads, so if you have access to the right ingredients, go right ahead!
