Stuck in a (Honey) Rut

June  5, 2012

It’s easy to get stuck in a honey rut. In tea, drizzled on oatmeal - it has the tendency to make pretty regular appearances in meals, but always in the same, routine ways.

If you’re stuck in a honey rut - or if you don’t know what that is but would like to prevent its monotonous, invariant occurrence anyway, Gardenista has a simple solution: infuse it.

They use rose petals (but other aromatics could be fun, too), and let steeping do the work of imparting a floral flavor to plain old, garden variety honey. See? You’re not so stuck after all.

I have a thing for most foods topped with a fried egg, a strange disdain for overly soupy tomato sauce, and I can never make it home without ripping off the end of a newly-bought baguette. I like spoons very much.
