Sugar Rush
Here at Food52 we love sugar as much as the next person. But sometimes it's hard to concretize how much sugar goes into our food. Similar to the way that math teachers explain how to multiply or count by tens with blocks, nutritionists are starting to use sugar cubes as a visual aid to explain our sugar consumption. With the recent news of soda taxes and bans (and the subsequent protests against them), this diagram seems especially relevant. But keep in mind that not all sugars are created equal (and that natural sugar is different from refined sugar) and take this picture with a grain of sugar salt.
