Today, we’re celebrating Julia Child’s 100th birthday! We’ll always be thankful to the woman who brought aspics back into fashion (or tried), made important the proper trussing of a chicken, and publicly turned her nose up at diet food. Unless, of course, she was waiting for her steak to cook.

Help us celebrate with these reminders of her lasting charm:

A reflection on Julia’s recipes that home cooks make time and time again from The New York Times

Proof that Julia stands the test of remixing (and our new cooking anthem).

A video tribute (and a prediction about Julia’s foie gras eating habits) from food writer Josh Ozersky, and another one from culinary great Thomas Keller

And a blog created for her centenary, dedicated to all things Julia.

Learning how to truss a chicken, searching for cassoulet and creating a baked Alaska flambee is what inspires me. Bon Appetit!
