Too Many Cooks: Vacation, All We Ever Wanted

by:
September  7, 2012

You'll be hearing from the staff at FOOD52 every week in Too Many Cooks, our group column in which we pool our answers to questions about food, cooking, life, and more.

We're back from our week of adventures away from the office and it feels good. But before our tans fade, today we're sharing photos from our respective vacations! (Lobster figures large, as you might have guessed.)

Where have you traveled this summer?

First coke in a bottle for Walker and Addie. And the deserving winner of a kids' sand sculpture contest.

I embrace being in Maine with gusto. Sarah is...undecided.

Christina

A pseudo-staycation with a brief jaunt down to DC and a stop at the Smithsonian to pay homage to Juuuuulia's Kitchen.

Amanda Li

I stayed at my Mom's lake house at Lake Thoreau in Reston, VA. Swimming, kayaking all day in 90+ weather.

Kenzi

Much-needed greenery and a beautiful view from the top of Mt. Monadnock in New Hampshire.

Kristen

Lobster dinner for two at Waterman's Beach Lobster, right on the water. I wish you could have seen the view!

Nozlee

I'm going to go old-school here and post a scan of an actual INSTANT PHOTO, since there was very little phone access for Instagram on the North Shore of Kauai. Here we're having Black Bean Orange Peel Edamame on the beach before dinner! I'd also like to thank vvvanessa and her sister vrunka for their amazing restaurant recommendations for Kauai's South Shore. We ate ahi and barbecue until our bellies were full.

Maddy

Lemon-parsley marinated split lobsters on the beach grill, and my husband Dana's 11-hour smoked beef short ribs. (He smokes 'em, I make the rub and sauce).

See what other Food52 readers are saying.
