The Stanford study on organic produce has stirred up plenty of debate in the past few weeks. Long-term effects of the pesticides used on conventional fruits and veggies are still being studied, but we can generally agree that the less chemicals on our food, the better. Blue River Technology's introduction of a weed-picking robot is particularly well-timed.

Farmers use chemicals to ward off pests, but they also look to herbicides to kill plant-choking weeds. Blue River's robot can identify weeds and eliminate them without herbicides -- a solution organic and conventional farmers (and all of us consumers!) can agree on.
