Bacon Love

Bacon. Some love it; others just don't understand it. What is it about this food that makes so many wax poetic? Is it the taste? The texture? Or some other nostalgia associated with it?

Here at Food52, we like to explore these questions, and we like to do it with style. Food Poem Fridays have become something of a ritual, a time for us to sit back and enjoy eloquently written words about our favorite foods, including tomatoes, onions, and ice cream. This week, we're bringing double the food poem love with a Slam Poem to Bacon, performed by Nick Offerman. 

Does this poem qualify as an "eloquently written" profession of one's love for bacon? Not exactly. But perhaps words can only go so far in explaining why people love bacon so. And plus, there are drums.
