Homemade Grape Soda

Grape soda (or pop, in certain regions of the US) easily brings forth memories of sugary-sweet childhood birthday parties and picnics. And if you were a lucky kid, you were allowed to drink this beverage in endless amounts.

But popular grape soda brands are filled with high levels of sodium benzoate (a chemical food preservative) and high fructose corn syrup, making this fizzy drink a not-so-desirable trip down memory lane. You can do better: with a little home-brewing champagne yeast and with concord grape juice, you can have a naturally sweet and effervescent grape soda that moms, dads, and kids can all agree on. Now that sounds like the perfect recipe for a grape float!
