That's quite a sexy meringue in that photo. I've never had bread pudding with meringue, and it looks like I've completely missed out.

Amanda is a co-founder of Food52.
A lot of old-fashioned bread puddings and rice puddings were topped with meringue -- it's an extra step but the meringue adds whole other dimension to the dessert. I definitely recommend giving it a try!
