How to Shape Pretzels

November 28, 2012

Inspired by conversations on the FOOD52 Hotline, we're sharing tips and tricks that make navigating all of our kitchens easier and more fun. Today, Amanda shows us how to shape pretzels.

Pretzel-making (and shaping!) is an underappreciated art these days. You may get apprehensive at the thought of tying or knotting pretzel dough into its iconic shape -- and for that, we don't blame you.

Watch Amanda demonstrate how easy pretzel-shaping can be -- no flour required. Feel free to keep it simple when shaping, or you can "live on the edge" with Amanda by flipping your pretzel dough in the air. Once you've mastered the art of shaping pretzels, bake a soft version of them with your children.

My two (current) favorite foods start with the letter D: doughnuts, and dumplings. If a dish has bacon in it, I will most likely eat it. If I could marry honey butter, I would.

THAT is a very tricky little flip! I think I will have to give pretzel-making a shot.

"This video is private". I'm in France, could this be the reason?
