This is Bon Appetit's Editor in Chief Adam Rapoport's last installment -- he's been sharing recipes and tips from his latest, The Grilling Book, all week long. 

If you've been following along, you've seen steak, sides, and all the trimmings necessary for a bang-up Memorial Day feast. The only thing that's missing is dessert (Oh look! We found it!) and a grill, which we're betting you'll provide come Monday. (A note to city folk sans patios: grill pans count, and we don't care who says otherwise.)
