Rosé and Picnic Salads

by:
May 27, 2010

To accompany this week's potato salad and string bean salad contest themes, Sasha offers tips for both sides of that philosophical line in the sand when it comes to picnic salads -- mayo or vinegar-based dressing? She focuses on the latter, recommending a fruity Jules Cotes de Provence Rosé that has enough acidity to go toe-to-toe with any vinegary salad dressing.

Excellent, let me know what you think! There are so many lovely CA pinks out there (Bonny Doon Vin Gris de Cigare to name one that's in heavy rotation at our house) but I really wanted to pick a wine that had a higher acidity level to hammer my point home, and Jules totally fit the bill. Don't worry, there will be other CA wine in the mix, I promise!

Côtes du Provence rosés dominate our table wine selections when the warm weather settles in. Looking forward to that warm weather and trying your recommendation!
