StickyBits in Your Pantry
KelseytheNaptimeChef's Double Chocolate Espresso Cookies
We've recently come up with a new way for you to access food52 recipes while you're at the grocery store, or even while you're wandering around your kitchen looking for something to cook. Using the StickyBits application, we, along with a few intrepid volunteers, have linked hundreds of our community's recipes to the bar codes on ingredients all over the country.
Now you can find recipes by simply downloading the StickyBits application and scanning an ingredient’s bar code with your iPhone or Android phone. For instance:
• Domino light brown sugar now has Double Chocolate Espresso Cookies attached
• DeCecco spaghetti links to Daddy's Carbonara
• Organic Valley Sour Cream connects to Blueberry Almond Breakfast Polenta
• Whole Foods 365 Organic Creamy Peanut Butter has recipes for Salted Double Chocolate Cookies and Barbacoa Beef Cheek Tacos
• Heckers All Purpose Flour links to recipes for Chocolate Bundt Cake and Classic Southern Buttermilk Bathed Fried Chicken
In addition to finding recipes, you can add recipes too! If you have an iPhone or Android phone, download StickyBits, scan the barcodes of your favorite ingredients, and attach any food52 recipes you like. It's a great way for shoppers and cooks across the country to discover your recipes on their phones.
And a huge thanks to our 5 generous volunteers, Danielle Nuzzo, Chloe Mathieu of chloé blogue [á New York], Holley Atkinson of Making Food Work, Greg Michnikov and David Keay, for all of their help on this project.

i've barely been able to keep up with food52 (which is a sad state of affairs) and, now, as i'm trying to take in a lot of what i've been missing in the last few months i see that my recipe for b'fast polenta is linked to organic valley sour cream. how cool! and, of course, even without that fun fact, what a great app. love food52! love my iphone!

This is such a forward-thinking idea - love it!! I don't have a fancy phone, so I will just stick with typing in "canned tomatoes" and seeing what pops up - anytime you want to revamp your website search for non-techies like me, go for it!! Or, better yet, maybe there is a way some of us can help by doing it for you??? (Because I would much rather see you put your efforts into your funny videos, which usually make my week.) Back to the new app - I think it is great that now people can go to the store, take something interesting off a shelf and, perhaps, find a new and tasty way to use it. You go, girls!

I just made them! You had me sold lol. I didn't put any espresso in them though. I put 1/2 cup of peanut butter in the second batch.

Huh. Neat! Had to try it out - if you scan DeCecco's Fusilli Bucati #98 (the first thing I grabbed) it now has an attachment to SippitySup's Red Beet Fusilli with Balsamic, Poppy Seeds and Mint.
