With a schedule full of recipes for various columns -- Jenny's in the Kitchen, Genius, New Veganism, and more -- we set to work in the test kitchen well-fueled by Amanda's Nespresso machine. Here are three favorite moments from the day. (Don't worry: we have both on-the-job snacking and adorable children covered.)

Things were a little bit in uproar (in a good way!) in the test kitchen yesterday.

Okay, so we cooked some stuff in the test kitchen on Tuesday. You know, food? All that will be on the site soon enough, but the most important event of the day was that Merrill's tiny 6-month-old daughter Clara came to visit.

Today we dedicate our test kitchen top 3 to adorable baby pictures. (But you can find lots of our non-baby shenanigans here, if you so desire.)

It's been a couple of weeks since we've taken a peek into our day in the test kitchen! Yesterday we cooked up all things mint for our current contest -- you'll see plenty of photos from the shoot in the coming days, but meanwhile here's a meta-look into how photographing all those recipes went. It was a busy day!

Things were a little touch and go yesterday in the test kitchen -- our beloved test kitchen manager Jennifer was out for the week and we missed her badly! Without her prowess at planning and cooking, we all jumped in to lend a hand with the recipes on deck.
