added over 1 year agoYou can use whole milk and add about a teaspoon of white vinegar or lemon juice to sour it.
The ratio for substituting 1 cup buttermilk is 1 cup milk + 1 Tbsp white vinegar OR lemon juice.
You can use any type of milk (whole, reduced, nonfat).
