A question about a recipe: Fruit Lollipops - can I sub agave nectar for corn syrup?

I haven't made these particular lollipops, but I wouldn't sub out agave for the corn syrup - the consistency of the two is so different, and agave is so sweet, I worry that the recipe simply wouldn't work.
