A question about a recipe: Brown Rice Jambalaya-ish

I have a question about the recipe "Brown Rice Jambalaya-ish" from healthier kitchen.
Can I substitute black rice for the brown, I bought black rice and want go try it but am not certain if it would work in the recipe, thank you.

I have done a shrimp dish with black rice and it's delicious and interesting looking. It would not be as traditional in look but I think it would work fine.

I should mention, though, that black rice has a tendency to turn everything a little bit purplish!
