What kind of food dye I can use for coloring cream for a cake frosting?

Gel food colorings by Americolor and Wilton work well for coloring frostings. They change the consistency of the frosting less than a liquid food coloring. You can find them at most arts/crafts stores like Michael's, Hobby Lobby or AC Moore in lots of different colors.
