Interesting. I just took a look at my OXO melon baller and I can't tell how it was manufactured. There are no visible welds but I'm not sure how else it would have been assembled. In any case, I've had it for years, use if for lots of other, much tougher uses than its intended purpose and have never had an issue. FWIW…
