cream scones

When a scone recipe reads "knead dough briefly" I am confused as too how much to knead. The same recipes usually tell you that over handling is bad, so kneading seems to me "overhandling. What exactly is meant by kneading concerning biscuits or scones?

Depending upon the recipe, that might be 6 or 8 turns.

You knead the dough until it has just all come together, and them stop.
