A question about a recipe: Mesquite Smoked Tomatoes

The instructions say to put the tomato skin side down, but the picture shows them cut side down. Which is correct? Thanks, Bruce at bham58@charter.netI have a question about the recipe "Mesquite Smoked Tomatoes" from mwolson.

Perhaps the photo was just meant to showcase the tomatoes. If you were to prepare them that way, all the good stuff would just drip out ....
