Urgent! Cake layers

I'm making a layered cake for a dessert for Thanksgiving. I trimmed the tops off, and one of them didn't go so well - some chunks fell off from the sides. 1) Can I use some of my caramel glaze that goes between the cake layers to kind of glue the pieces back on? and 2) Where should I put this layer to try and make sure the cake is as stable as it can be? The top, middle or bottom?

Yes - use the caramel glaze as a kind of "glue and put the "challenged" cake in the middle and it will be further secured by the bottom and top. And don't worry -- it's going to be delicious anyway
