Greek food is great for a party, but the Greeks didn't wear togas. (Check Wikipedia) Now, the Romans had an extraordinary history of extravagant banquets! Individuals spent until they were penniless, and the Emperor Heliogabalus reigned four years and completely emptied the treasury.... (I don't suppose you're planning that kind of party, though.)
