Can someone identify this korean condiment?

I bought this hoping it was white miso, but I was wrong! It's a dark, pungent, salty, coarse, non spicy paste. Does anyone know what this is?

I love mystery ingredients!

It's probably Doenjang - a fermented soybean paste. Something like the Japanese miso.

I agree with nasilemak (without actually seeing the product). I'm really digging Korean ingredients right now.
