I need a medium sized good processor, about 5 to 6 cups. Everything I have look at is either too small or or too large. Any suggestions? Thanks Dav

Black & Decker ... I picked one up about two years ago and it's fantastic (quiet too). Like yourself, I have the big Kenmore and, like yourself, it's a heavy duty item to pull out, use, and then clean.
Check out Black & Deckers small appliances. I'm impressed!

Thanks AniQuadros, do you have a model number for it?

Hi Sidney, I have a Hamilton beach 6 cups and works perfectly. Not to big, not to small and better yet, affordable.

Unfortunately my large processor is very old, works great though and operates like new but it only has the large bowl. My motivation is to have something smaller and less cumbersome and something that doesn't take up half the dishwasher rack when I have used it and need to clean it.

My searches seem to indicate that while there are plenty of small, 3 cups or less and plenty of big processors no one seems to make the 5 to 6 cup size anymore, if they even did.

Thanks for your answers.

Sidney, what about the small bowl of your large processor? Or is your large processor too old to have that feature?

Thank you for your response, and I agree. However I already have a large Cusinart, a small Cuisinart and a 3 cup HB. I use all of these items, but I need something about 5 to 6 cups for medium sized processing where the smaller units require several batches and the larger unit is just to large, too bulky and too cumbersome.

So I would really like to have 5-6 cup machine for the times I need just that size.

As a culinary educator, and also someone who used to work for Cuisinart, I always advise folks to buy the largest machine they can accommodate. Why? Well, it's pretty easy to do a small amount in anlarge bowl (and these days both Cuisinart and KitchenAid come with two bowls) but it's a real P.I.T.A. to have to keep batching over and over in a smaller workbowl. Buy yourself a larger food processor. I'm guessing you'll end up getting more than your money's worth out of it.
