I think you probably mean "adobo" because adobe would be something like a brick. You would make an adobo beginning with dried chiles and build a marinade.

Do you mean adobo? Adobo is the sauce that canned chipotle chilies are packed in. Adobe has a lot of smoky heat and could be a good flavoring for chicken.
