How long can you keep stone ground grits in the freezer?

Pretty much indefinitely. All things dry out, lose moisture and can take on odors in your freezer. 6 months to 1 year should be no issue at all. This is a product that wont make you sick, potential degradation of quality is the issue.

Thanks for the answer. I bought a large quantity of stone-ground grits (not degerminated) and stored them in the freezer. They were fine for a year, and then the last time I used them they never thickened up, even after an hour. So maybe a year is tops?
