substitute for buttermilk

recipe calls for buttermilk snow storm preventing me from getting to a store. What can I use to substitute for buttermilk. Making corn dogs with 5 year-old twins.

You can stir a tablespoon of vinegar or fresh lemon juice into a cup of regular milk (whole, 2-or1%). Let it clabber for a short while (10 minutes), and your good to go.
