I've never heard of pomegranate molasses. Is this the same as grenadine?

unfortunately not it is used in savory dishes in the middle east so try a middle east supermarket as it is not in standard markets

I've found it in a Middle Eastern grocery store, and it's available online if you're having trouble getting your hands on it.
