A question about a recipe: Oven barbecued pork

I have a question about the recipe "Oven barbecued pork" from Kayb.
The ingredients list 1/2 cup of neutral oil but the recipe doesn't use it. Please tell me where it goes. Thanks

Oops! Sorry! Goes in the sauce. You won't need it to cook the pork.
