I've seen it in stores. I have no idea why you'd use it. I think it must be a clever marketing idea dreamed up by some maple syrup cooperative. I believe the term is "adding value" ----and thus plain old pepper turns into a luxury ingredient.The thing is, the flavor of maple is so delicate that it would certainly be overwhelmed in combination with pepper.
