Can you freeze milk if you're not going to be home for a week or more?

I have frozen skim milk to take camping, and it tasted just fine (and made an excellent ice pack)

I've done it, too, and haven't had a problem. It's nice to come home from vacation and not have to go to the grocery store for milk right away.

In my experience, if its organic whole milk it defrosts just fine....

You can freeze it, but imho you wouldn't want to drink it when you've thawed it out. the texture changes. It's fine for cooking/baking, though.

yes, I do it all the time if I have more milk than I need.
