A question about a recipe: Almond Cake with Orange-Flower Water Syrup

I have a question about step 5 on the recipe "Almond Cake with Orange-Flower Water Syrup" from amusebouche. It says:

"When cake comes out of the oven, let stand 10 minutes, then use toothpick to poke holes over the top and pour the syrup over. The syrup may puddle at the top- don't worry, it will sink in. Allow to cool before serving."

Usually when doing a poke-type cake like this, I'll leave it in the pan so the syrup really soaks in rather than seeping out. The instruction about "puddling at the top" appears to support this.

Do you remoe this cake from the pan before pouring the syrup?
