Handmade from cattle horn, this salt cellar holds a pinch of salt with a lot of character. The marbled brown and tan hues are natural to the horns of Nigerian Watussi and Ankole cattle, and each cellar has a unique swirl pattern. With a small spoon to scoop, it's a useful table accessory but also one of our favorite uniquely sourced kitchen pieces.

  • Made in: Denmark
  • Made of: Nigerian cattle horn
  • Size: Cellar: 2 ½” long x ¾” deep. Spoon: 2 ½” long.

Sourced from: Kaufmann Mercantile

Sourced from Kaufmann Mercantile: Based in New York, Kaufmann Mercantile sources products that are three things: functional, durable, and aesthetically pleasing. Beyond that, Sebastian Kaufmann, German expat and founder of the company, is building an online library filled with histories and how-tos. We're all about letting them provide us with our next generation of heirlooms, all while teaching us a thing or two.

Clean cellar immediately after use in lukewarm water without the addition of soap or solvents. Dry immediately using a soft cloth. Not dishwasher safe. Direct sunlight or heat is detrimental and will dry out the horn.

Standard Shipping: Ships in about 3 business days.
