Basic Cilantro & mint chutney
Makes 1/2 cup
- 2 cups cilantro leaves (packed)
- 1/2 cup mint leaves (packed)
- 1-2 small green chiles (start with one & increase heat if needed)
- Juice of 1 lime
- Salt to taste
- In a food processor, blend all the ingredients with NO added water till smooth.

Thanks Kitchen butterfly, I know what you mean... Its extremely versatile! This is the absolute basic version I posted since a lot of my street food recipes called for it. I even dip corn chips in it! Love the mango slaw idea!

I love this chutney. Since an Indian friend taught me how to make it a few years ago, it has become a staple. I stir some in to yogurt to make a thick sauce, I coat mango juliennes in it to make a delicious sweet and sour slaw - will be posting my version soon. Love it tossed in sweetcorn. Shall I stop :-)
