This is my mother's smoothie recipe. Unlike other smoothies, this one will get you through to lunchtime. You can easily substitute or add other berries (fresh or frozen). - MZG —MZG

Test Kitchen Notes

I’ll admit, when I agreed to test MZG’s raspberry smoothie, I was intrigued and a little skeptical. With both kefir and buttermilk, would the smoothie be over-the-top tangy? I shouldn’t have worried: The clever addition of maple syrup rounds out the flavors perfectly. The resulting smoothie has just the right balance of creamy, sweet, and tangy. It’s also a great way to use up buttermilk you may have hanging out in your fridge. Thanks, MZG, for sharing your mom's smoothie. I'll be making it again and again. - EmilyC —EmilyC
